Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2025
Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2025

The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, a conference with high-level international participants where they engage in dialogue on the most pressing questions on the hashtag #EnergyTransition, kicked off on 18 March.
As part of the first day's agenda, Dr. Jorge Islas, Undersecretary for Energy Planning and Transition at the Ministry of Energy of Mexico, participated in the panel Global Energy Transition Between International Cooperation And Competition.
The panel focused on exploring two questions:
1) how the geopolitical challenges of the energy transition can be effectively overcome.
2) what strategies are best to address the growing duality between, on the one hand, achieving global climate and energy goals, and, on the other hand, strong competition in trade and supply chains.
Dr. Islas' participation highlighted the energy reform of President Sheinbaum's government and its goals to increase renewable energy in the country without neglecting the leadership of state-owned companies. In addition to Dr Islas, public officials from the energy ministries of Lithuania, Spain and Brazil as well as representatives of the Global Renewables Alliance (GRA) and the United Nations Development Programme also participated.
